Configuring the TCP/IP Settings

WAN DRIVER - MICROSOFT WINDOWS 98 FE, 98 SE, AND Me

NOTE: Before configuring the TCP/IP settings, you should consult with your DSL Internet Service Provider for the correct settings. If your modem was supplied by your DSL Internet Service Provider, verify with their documentation for the correct TCP/IP settings. After configuring your TCP/IP settings, verify that you have a valid Internet connection by accessing your default browser or the browser of your choice.

  • From your PC desktop, double-click My Computer, then double-click Dial-Up Networking.
  • Right-click USRobotics Dial-Up PPP Connection and click Properties.
  • From the Properties window, click the Server Types tab.
  • In the Allowed Network Protocols section, check the box next to TCP/IP and click TCP/IP settings. The TCP/IP Settings window will appear. The TCP/IP Settings window is used to configure the IP address, Name Server addresses, and/or default gateway.
  • After configuring the TCP/IP settings, click OK. At this point, you may be asked to reboot. If asked, click Yes and your PC will reboot.
  • In the USRobotics Dial-Up PPP Connection window, click OK to close.
  • Your modem should now be ready for Internet browsing.

WAN DRIVER - MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000

NOTE: Before configuring the TCP/IP settings, you should consult with your Internet Service Provider for the correct settings. If your modem was supplied by your DSL Service Provider, verify with their documentation for the correct TCP/IP settings. After configuring your TCP/IP settings, verify that you have a valid Internet connection by accessing your default browser or the browser of your choice.

  • From your PC desktop, double-click My Computer, then double-click Control Panel, and double-click Network & Dial-up Connections.
  • Right-click USRobotics Dial-Up PPP Connection and click Properties. Select the Networking tab.
  • In the Components Checked Are Used By This Connection screen, check the box next to Internet Protocol TCP/IP.
  • Click Properties. Select Use the Following IP Address.
  • Make the appropriate changes as indicated by your DSL Internet Service Provider.
  • Select Use the Following DNS Server Addresses and enter the Preferred DNS server address and the Alternate DNS server addresses indicated by your DSL Internet Service Provider.
  • When finished, click OK. You will return to the Properties window. Click OK.
  • Your modem should now be ready for Internet browsing.

  • From the list, select TCP/IP->USRobotics USB ADSL LAN Modem.
  • Click Properties.
  • Select the IP Address tab from the TCP/IP Properties window.
  • Select either the Obtain an IP address automatically or Specify an IP address option. Refer to your DSL Internet Service Provider for the specific address option.
  • When finished configuring the TCP/IP settings in the TCP/IP Properties window, click OK.
  • In the Network window, click OK to end the configuring TCP/IP options session. You may be asked to reboot your PC. If asked, click Yes, and your PC will reboot.
  • Your modem should now be ready for Internet browsing.

LAN DRIVER - MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2000

NOTE: Before configuring the TCP/IP settings, you should consult with your Internet Service Provider for the correct settings.   • From your PC desktop, double-click My Computer, then double-click Control Panel, and double-click Network & Dial-up Connections.
  • Double-click on the Local Area Connection icon. If more than one Local Area Connection is present, select the latest.
  • Click Properties. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the General tab of the Local Area Connection window.
  • Click Properties. Select Use the following IP address. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window will be used to alter IP settings and DNS server addresses.
  • Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  • In the Local Area Connection Properties window, click OK to close.
  • Your modem should now be ready for Internet browsing.

ATM DRIVER - MICROSOFT WINDOWS 98 SE AND ME (WINDOWS 98 FE USERS MUST USE WAN OR LAN DRIVER MODE)

NOTE: Before configuring the TCP/IP settings, you should consult with your Internet Service Provider for the correct settings. If your modem was supplied by your DSL Service Provider, verify with their documentation for the correct TCP/IP settings. After configuring your TCP/IP settings, verify that you have a valid Internet connection by accessing your default browser or the browser of your choice.

  • From your PC desktop, double-click My Computer, then double-click Dial-Up Networking.
  • Right-click USRobotics Dial-Up PPP Connection and click Properties.
  • From the Properties window, click the Server Types tab.

  • Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window. In the U.S. Robotics Dial-Up PPP Connection Properties window, click OK to close.
  • Your modem should now be ready for Internet browsing.
