Uninstallation

Note: These instructionsapply to this USRobotics modem only. If the modem that you want to uninstall was made by another manufacturer or is an another USRobotics modem, refer to that modem's documentation for instructions.

Follow the uninstallation instructions for your operating system:

Windows Vista

  1. Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Modems.
  3. Right-click Courier V.Everything EXT PnP, then select Uninstall.
  4. To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.
  5. Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.

    Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and all telephone and electrical cords to your computer and modem are unplugged.

  6. Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
  7. Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem.
  8. Remove the phone cords from the modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.

Windows XP

  1. Click Windows Start > Control Panel and double-click System.
  2. Click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
  3. Double-click to expand Modems.
  4. Right-click your USRobotics modem and select Uninstall. To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.
  5. Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.

    Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and all telephone and electrical cords to your computer and modem are unplugged.

  6. Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
  7. Remove the phone cords from the modem.
  8. Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.

Windows 2000

  1. Click Windows Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click System.
  2. Click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
  3. Double-click to Modems to expand the list.
  4. Right-click your USRobotics modem and select Uninstall. To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.
  5. Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.

    Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and all telephone and electrical cords to your computer and modem are unplugged.

  6. Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
  7. Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem.
  8. Remove the phone cords from the modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.

Windows Me, 98, 95 and NT

  1. Click Windows Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Modems.
  3. Select your USRobotics modem and click Remove.
  4. If prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the modem.
  5. Close any open windows.
  6. Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.

    Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and all telephone and electrical cords to your computer and modem are unplugged.

  7. Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
  8. Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem.
  9. Remove the phone cords from the modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.
