LAN Settings

The LAN Settings page lets you set and control the assignment of IP addresses in your network.

• Wireless Router IP Address
• IP Address—The IP address of the Wireless Router. The default address is 192.168.2.1. Although not recommended, you can change the router's IP address to fit your needs. If you do, be sure to record the new address or commit it to memory. If you forget the new address, you will have to reset the router in order to use the Web user interface, and you will lose all your configuration settings.
• IP Subnet Mask—The subnet mask of the network.
• DHCP Server—To have the router dynamically assign IP addresses to client computers, enable this function. Be sure to configure each computer to obtain its IP address automatically.
• DHCP IP Address Pool
• Start IP and End IP—The first and last addresses, respectively, in the IP address pool.
• Domain Name—The name that you assign to your network.
• Lease Time—The length of time for which the DHCP server will reserve the IP address for each computer.

Setting short intervals, such as one hour or one day may cause a particular computer’s IP address may change over time. If you have set any advanced features, such as DMZ, which are dependent on the IP address, do not specify a short lease time.
