The WAN Settings page lets you specify the connection type required by your Internet service provider. If you are not sure which connection type to select, contact your service provider.
Select your service type:
Dynamic IP Address—If you use a cable modem this is most likely to be your service type.
PPPoE—If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a password and service name, then your ISP uses PPPoE. You must choose this option and enter the required information.
PPTP—Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol is a common connection method used for xDSL connections in Europe.
Static IP Address—Some xDSL Internet Service Providers may assign a fixed IP address for your Internet gateway. If you have been provided with this information, choose this option and enter the assigned IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP and DNS IP addresses for your wireless router.
BigPond—BigPond is a service provider in Australia. If you use BigPond, select this option.
Click More Configuration to display settings specific to the service type.
