The
is backward compatible and will negotiate the highest possible speed when connecting to a service provider.
The V.92 standard is an exciting advancement in 56K technology. Contact your service provider to find if your ISP offers V.92 technology. The USRobotics offers V.92 functions that enhance the V.90 standard.
"V.PCM-Upstream" technology: This allows a modem's upstream communication to reach speeds of 48,000 bps. The V.90 standard limited upstream speeds to 31,200 bps.
Quick Connect: Quick Connect supports quicker dial-up connections by allowing the modem to remember the line, eliminating the need for the modem to go through the full training sequence every time you connect to your service provider.
"Modem On Hold" technology1: This allows your Internet connection to be suspended when there is an inbound telephone call using Internet Call Notification. When a call comes in to your telephone line, you will be prompted to accept the call or ignore it.2 If you subscribe to Caller ID service, the number of the incoming call will be display. When your call is complete, you can return to your internet connection.
If you are connecting to a server that does not support V.92, you will be prompted to accept the call or ignore it, but accepting the call will terminate your data connection.
