Note: These instructions only apply to this USRobotics modem. If the modem you'll be uninstalling was made by another manufacturer or is an another USRobotics modem, refer to that modem's documentation for instructions.
Windows Vista
Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
Select Windows Driver Package - U.S. Robotics Corporation Modem and click Uninstall/Change.
Click Continue.
To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click Yes.
Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager.
Double-click Modems.
Right-click U.S. Robotics 56K FAX EXT, then select Uninstall.
To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.
Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.
Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and unplugged.
Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem.
Remove the phone cords from the modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.
Windows XP
Click Windows Start > Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs.
Select Windows Driver Package - U.S. Robotics Corporation Modem and click Uninstall/Change.
To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click Yes.
Click Windows Start > Control Panel and double-click System.
Click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
Double-click to expand Modems.
Right-click your USRobotics modem and select Uninstall. To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.
Shut down Windows and turn off your computer.

Click Windows Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click System.

Double-click to Modems to expand the list.
Right-click your USRobotics modem and select Uninstall. To confirm the removal of the device from your system, click OK.

Click Windows Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Double-click Modems.
Select your USRobotics modem and click Remove.
If prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the modem.
Close any open windows.
Close all windows, shut down Windows and turn off your computer.
Warning: To avoid the risk of electric shock, make sure your computer and all peripheral devices are turned off and unplugged.
Power off your modem and unplug the power adapter.
Detach the serial cable from your computer and your modem.
Remove the phone cords from the modem. Your modem has now been completely uninstalled.
