DMZ

DMZ stands for Demilitarised Zone. This feature allows an IP address to be exposed to the Internet. DMZ allows only one computer to be exposed when multiple TCP/IP ports need to be open.

If you have a client computer that cannot run an Internet application properly from behind the firewall, you can open the client up to unrestricted two-way Internet access by defining a virtual DMZ host. Adding a client to the DMZ may expose your local network to a variety of security risks, so use caution when enabling DMZ.

USRobotics recommends that any client running in the DMZ have a static IP address. If your client uses a dynamic IP address, you will need to update the Client PC IP Address whenever the IP address changes.
