My router is not responding after I performed a firmware upgrade.

Solution 1:

It is possible that the upgrade process did not complete before you attempted to access the router configuration pages. Wait two minutes and then try to access the router configuration pages again.

Solution 2:

Unplug and then plug back in the power supply of the Wireless ASDL2+ Router. This will reboot the Wireless ASDL2+ Router. Wait for 30 seconds before you attempt to access the configuration pages of the Wireless ASDL2+ Router.

Solution 3:

Press in and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds. This will reset the Wireless ASDL2+ Router to the factory default settings. If you applied any personal configuration settings, you will need to make the changes again.

Solution 4:

You may need to release and renew the connection of your computer to the router.

Solution 5:

When there is a power failure during software upgrade, the flash image may crash. The ADSL2+ Wireless Router provides a Flash Crash Recovery mechanism to recover the crashed flash image.

Recovery Steps:

  1. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the router for 40-50 seconds. The router should reboot and load a recovery image.
  2. Assign a Static IP Address to your computer, in the same subnet as the router's IP address, and use the same subnet mask. The default IP address of the Wirless ASDL2+ Router is 192.168.1.1, and the default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. For example, assign the Static IP Address of 192.168.1.5 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 to your computer.

For information on how to assign a Static IP Address to your computer, see the documentation for your operating system.

  3. Start your Web browser. In the location or address line, type: 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER to access the router configuration pages.
  4. Select Upgrade from the Device menu.
  5. Click Browse to locate and select the new firmware file.

  6. Click Update to begin the update process.

  7. After the router has restarted, you can set your computer back to using a Dynamic IP Address and then reconfigure the router.

For information on how to assign a Dynamic IP Address to your computer, see the documentation for your operating system.
