Know what letter your CD-ROM drive uses before you begin installing your new product. You may need to know this to complete the installation.

For optimum performance of your USB Telephone Adapter and its advanced features, your computer should meet or exceed the following requirements:

Step One: Install Skype
Insert your USRobotics Installation CD-ROM.
The CD didn't start automatically?
From the Start menu, select My Computer and double-click the CD-ROM drive.
If prompted, select your language and accept the End User License Agreement.
Select Install Skype.
If you already have Skype version 1.3.xx or later on your computer, you can start Skype and proceed to “Step Two: Install the USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter” or continue and upgrade to Skype version 2.0.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install Skype 2.0 and create a Skype account.
Step Two: Install the USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter
Select Install USB Telephone Adapter.
The Setup window appears.
Click Yes to continue the installation.
Read the license agreement and click Agree.
Verify the installation directory for the USB Telephone Adapter, and click OK.
A setup window appears prompting you to plug in your USB Telephone Adapter.
Connect the USB cable to the telephone adapter and computer as illustrated below:
Follow the instructions to install the USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter software. For Windows XP:
Select Install the software automatically and click Next. The installation program scans the CD-ROM and installs the USB Telephone Adapter driver.
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
For Windows 2000:
Click Next.
Select Search for a suitable driver for my device and click Next.
Verify that CD-ROM drives is selected and click Next. The installation program scans the CD-ROM for the USB Telephone Adapter driver.
After the installation program locates the driver, click Next to continue.
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Follow the instructions to install the USRobotics Virtual Audio.
For Windows XP:
Select Install the software automatically and click Next. The installation program will scan the CD-ROM and install the USRobotics Virtual Audio device.
If a Hardware Installation warning appears, click Continue Anyway. *
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
For Windows 2000:
Click Next.
Select Search for a suitable driver for my device and click Next.
Verify the CD-ROM drives check box is selected and click Next. The installation program will scan the CD-ROM for the USRobotics Virtual Audio driver.
After the installation program locates the driver, click Next to continue.
If a Digital Signature Not Found warning appears, click Yes to continue. *
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
The installation program may prompt you to reboot your computer. If Skype does not automatically start after the reboot, start and log on to Skype.
A window appears stating that another program wants to use Skype. Select Allow this program to use Skype and click OK.
Once the software is installed, the USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter icon appears in your system tray.
Step Three: Connect the USB Telephone Adapter to Your Telephone
Identify the phone cable that connects your existing telephone to the wall jack. Disconnect the cable from the telephone (the connector may be on the bottom or back of the telephone) and plug it into the LINE port of the Telephone Adapter as illustrated below.
Using the RJ-11 telephone cable provided, connect your telephone to the PHONE port on the USB telephone adapter as illustrated below.
In addition to Skype, you can still use your analogue telephone
service when the USB Telephone Adapter is connected to a telephone
line.

The installation procedure is now complete. You can perform a test to verify that the telephone adapter and Skype are working correctly. If you experience any problems, refer to the Troubleshooting information in this guide.

When you register your telephone adapter online, USRobotics will use your information to:

To register your telephone adapter:
Connect to your Internet service provider.
At the Installation CD-ROM interface, click Support.
Select Product Registration and click the link to register your telephone adapter.
