My telephone does not ring upon incoming calls.

Possible Solution:

Verify the telephone adapter is connected to the computer and receiving power.

Possible Solution:

Verify that both the USB Telephone Adapter and Skype are active. Look in your Windows system tray for the USB Telephone Adapter icon.

Restart the telephone adapter if there is a problem. To restart the USB Telephone adapter:

  1. In the Windows system tray, right-click the USB Telephone Adapter and click Exit.
  2. Go to Windows Start.
  3. Select USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter.
  4. Select USRAgent.

Verify your cables are connected correctly between your computer, the telephone adapter and your telephone.

Connect your telephone to a wall jack and make a call to verify your telephone is in proper working order.

Possible Solution:

If your telephone rings on incoming PSTN calls but not on incoming Skype calls, the phone may not be compatible with the telephone adapter. Try connecting a different phone to the telephone adapter.

Possible Solution:

If you selected "Do not allow this program to use Skype" in the pop-up window after the installation finished, the telephone adapter will not function properly.

  1. Select Options from the Skype Tools Menu and select Privacy.
  2. Under Related Tasks, select Manage other programs' access to Skype.
  3. Select USRMonitor.EXE and click Change.
  4. Select Allow this program to use Skype and click OK.
  5. In the Windows system tray, right-click the USB Telephone Adapter and click Exit.
  6. Go to Windows Start.
  7. Select USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter.
  8. Select USRAgent.
