Click Windows Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
Select the playback device that you want to use for your computer sounds.
Click Set Default. A green checkmark appears next to the selected device. Click OK to close the Sound window.
In the Hardware and Sound window, click Adjust system volume under Sound.
Make sure that Device, Applications and Skype are not muted, and the volume control sliders are not at the bottom.

Select the Audio tab.
