Make sure that the Internet Call Notification icon is in the system tray.
Use your modem to connect to the Internet.
Call the telephone number that your computer is connected to, from another line. A window should display and notify you of the incoming call. Caller ID information may also be displayed if the service is active on your modem line.
To use Internet Call Notification, you need to have a V.92 connection to the Internet and call waiting service on your telephone line. You can use Internet Call Notification if you do not have caller ID service, but caller information will not display.
Accepting a Call
Once you are notified that you have a call, you approximately 14 seconds to decide whether or not to take the incoming call. A countdown will be displayed.
If you are connecting to a server that supports V.92:
A message displays informing you of an incoming call.
Click Accept to take the call, or Ignore to drop the call.
Note: If you pick up your handset before pressing the Accept button, your line will not switch to the incoming call.
A connection will be established with the call.
When the message "You can take your second call" is displayed, you have four seconds to pick up your handset before the call is dropped.
Note: If you pick up your phone too late, the incoming call will be dropped.
A message will appear notifying you of the length of time before the data connection is terminated. This length of time is determined by your telephone service provider.
You can then return to the connection when the call is completed without losing the connection.
If you are connecting to a server that does not support V.92:
A message displays informing you of an incoming call.
Click Accept to take the call, or Ignore to drop the call.
When you accept the call, your data connection will be terminated.
Note: If you pick up your handset before pressing the Accept button, your line will not switch to the incoming call.
A connection will be established with the call.

Switching Back to Your Internet Connection
Your ISP will terminate your Internet connection if you have ended your call before the determined length of time. Internet Call Notification displays a countdown of your remaining time.
To return to your Internet connection:
Press the Back button.
Note: Be sure to click the Back button before hanging up your phone, and during the time when "Hang up your phone now!" is displayed; otherwise, your modem will not be able to switch back to the Internet.
You will have four seconds to hang up your handset before your Internet connection is dropped.
A connection will be established with your ISP.
The window will close and you should be back online.
To continue your phone conversation and drop your Internet connection:
Click the Drop button.
You will receive a message that you have been disconnected from the Internet. Follow your regular dial-up routine to re-establish an Internet connection.
