Installing the Router

Your model number is 8004. It is very important that you have your serial number written down before you install the Broadband Router. You can find your serial number on the bottom label of the Broadband Router and on the side of the package. If you ever need to call our Technical Support department, you will need this number to receive assistance.

1. Connect your modem to the router

• Turn off your computer and your modem.

• Locate the Ethernet cable that connects your modem to your computer’s Ethernet adapter, and disconnect the cable from the computer only. Do not disconnect the cable from your modem.

• Connect the free end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port on the rear of the router.

• There is no default password for the Broadband Router, so just click Log in.

• Select Primary Setup from the menu, and then click Change.

• Select your WAN type. Depending on your WAN type, you may need to supply some connection information. When you are finished, click Save.

Note: Refer to Configuring the Router for more detailed configuration information. Contact your ISP if you have any questions about your WAN type or your connection information.
