The left-hand side of the Advanced Setup page displays the main menu and the right-hand side shows the configuration screens for your router. From here, you can access security and firewall information, tools, status information, and additional settings for your router that may be required by your ISP.
To return to the Advanced Setup page at any time, click Home in the upper right corner of the screen.
The following settings are accessible:
SETUP WIZARD: Use the setup wizard to initiate or change your Internet connection and basic LAN settings.
SYSTEM: Sets the local time zone, the password for administrator access, and the IP address of a computer or notebook that will be allowed to manage the Wireless ADSL2+ Router remotely.
LAN: Sets the TCP/IP configuration for the Wireless ADSL2+ Router LAN interface and DHCP clients.
WIRELESS:
Configures wireless security settings including the radio frequency, SSID, security and advanced settings for wireless communications.
NAT:
Configures Address Mapping, virtual server and special applications.
ROUTING:
Sets the routing parameters and displays the current routing table.
FIREWALL:
Configures a variety of security and specialized functions including: Access Control, URL blocking, Internet access control scheduling, intruder detection, MAC filtering, and DMZ.
SNMP: Configures community string and trap server settings for remote SNMP monitoring.
UPnP:
With Universal Plug and Play, a device can automatically join a network, obtain an IP address, communicate its capabilities, and learn about the presence and capabilities of other devices. Devices can then directly communicate with each other. This further enables peer-to-peer networking.
ADSL:
Sets the ADSL operation type and shows the ADSL status.
DDNS:
Dynamic DNS provides users on the Internet with a method to tie their domain name to a computer or server.
TOOLS:
Contains options to backup & restore the current configuration, restore all configuration settings to the factory defaults, update system firmware, or reboot the system.
STATUS: Provides WAN connection type and status, firmware and hardware version numbers, system IP settings, as well as DHCP, NAT, and firewall information. Displays the number of attached clients, the firmware versions, the physical MAC address for each media interface, and the hardware version and serial number. Shows the security and DHCP client log.
